Teaching Your Child to be Safe at Shopping Malls

Shopping malls are a place most parents think there kids are safe, and most of the time that is true. It still is a good idea to teach your child how to be safe at shopping malls. There are many things that your child can learn that will help protect them in a mall. Here are some of tips to help protect your child when they are shopping at a mall alone or with you.

Make sure your child knows where the information booth is at the mall. Every mall has an information booth and your child needs to know where it’s at. Phone booths are also located through most malls as well. Always make sure your child knows the location of these if they ever get lost or need help. Buy your child a prepaid cell phone to carry with them. If they get lost in the mall or in trouble they can call for help.

Teach your child to never go alone in a bathroom, as this is where abductions can happen. It is wise to make sure your child knows their surroundings all the time. Children many times do not pay attention, and that is when they get lost or something may happen. Teaching your child some of these tips will help them stay safe in the mall while they shop with or without you.
