The Crime Beat Gazette debuted in January 1996 with the mission to educate, motivate, enlighten and inspire readers on matters of public safety, crime and violence prevention, personal security and like matters through the exchange of information, ideas, and tips.
The Crime Beat Gazette is published by The Sware CRISIS Group, LLC. The word CRISIS is an acronym that illustrates the company's focus and establishes the foundation for its projects: Crime Reduction, Improved Security, and Increased Safety.
In addition to publishing The Crime Beat Gazette, The Sware CRISIS Group, LLC offers training seminars to various groups including police officers, school personnel, businesses, community groups, neighborhood associations, and crime watch organizations. It also provides security consultation services to businesses and organizations including specialized areas of schools and apartment communities.
The Crime Beat Gazette, however, is our most visible venture as it has travelled to thousands of homes and businesses around the United States arming readers with knowledge about crime and safety to make them proactive and prepared rather than reactive and scared.
In September 2000 the post office returned a copy of The Crime Beat Gazette that was addressed to a young lady in Alton, Virginia. A handwritten note across the label simply read: "Deceased by violence." That returned newsletter is visible in our office as a reminder of why The Crime Beat Gazette continues to press forward.
